Please refer to the latest version of this page for the results.
Objectives
There are 3 objectives for this eTournament:
- Students from different parts of the world, who do not know each other before joining the eTournament, learn to work together online (Online Teams) to complete specific tasks.
- The main topic set for these Online Teams consists of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They are to learn about these SDGs through the game platform, PaGamO.
- Students must also learn about the different cultures and background of their teammates. These Online Teams will make use of synchronous online communications to discuss issues relating to one SDG in details.
For Objective 1, the Organiser of the eTournament will be responsible to form the Online Teams in order to ensure a good mix of students from different places in each team. The Online Teams will be given time to get to know each other, choose their respective leaders and generally prepare themselves.
For Objective 2, the Organiser of the eTournament has prepared questions on all 17 SDGs to be asked and answered via the PaGamO platform. The Online Teams will be given instructions on PaGamO as well as time for them to discuss and design their strategies to win.
For Objective 3, the Organiser of the eTournament has prepared a set of issues for each SDG for the Online Teams to discuss using a synchronous online meeting application software, e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc. Each Online Team will be assigned an SDG randomly, and each team will be required to schedule its own online meeting to allow all its members to participate. The focus of the discussion is to exchange and share each member’s own experience and knowledge about the chosen SDG. A summary of the discussion, and perhaps some proposed actions that can be taken by all members in their respective locations to achieve SDG will have to be submitted by each Online Team in the format of the recorded meeting (a feature usually provided by the software).
